Dawson And Trixie

Today:
I realized why mom's dog, Trixie, always sticks her nose in my mouth, but she never does that to anyone else. Its because I kiss her nose with my lips, so shes just doing the same thing back with a little too much force!
Emily sent me a text saying "Dustin is going backing on Sunday night and Dawson wants to know if you want to spend the night at his house"
That little boy is hilarious and so cute!

Today i started to clean, unpack, sort, and repack the spare bedroom. It looks worse than before I started because now everything is scattered all over the floor, waiting to be put away tomorrow. And yet, thats not even the hard part. The hard part of tomorrow is cleaning, unpacking, and sorting my bedroom!
Then wednesday is pamper day.
Thursday is cleaning the bathrooms, shopping, and of course Brayden!
Friday is stuff.
Saturday: Engagement pictures by my wonderful photographer, Susan Hessing.
Sunday is church.
Monday is the cemetary party for memorial day!
I've got a big week ahead of me! Hopefully the spare bedroom will be finished by the time Brayden gets here!

There is an NFL player for the cowboys named Marion Barber. His jersey was 50% off at "Fanzz" in the Gateway. an $80 jersey, and I bought it.
I bought it because I am currently engaged to Brayden Barber, and the jersey just says "Barber" on the back. I miss him a ton and the second I put the jersey on, I couldn't take it off.

Wedding dress

So this is my dream dress and I didn't even know it. It is $280 from a website that I found. The website is legit because it uses PayPal. The also do custom dress, etc. so I asked them how much it would cost to add sleeves to this dress. "$20 out of matching lace" was their reply. Hmmmm, well I'll need more coverage than just lace, so I mentioned that, told them I was hesitant to buy a dress online, my budget is $300, and gave them my measurements (which I learned are very weird. My bust is a size 5 which doesn't exist, my waist is a size 4 and my butt is a size 2). This dress, plus alterations, plus S&H should be about $360. They emailed me back and said that because I am so small, they will CUSTOM MAKE MY DRESS FOR $300 flat!
So to sum this all up: this will eventually be my wedding dress, but in white, with sleeves added, and a lace-up corset-style back. All that made to custom fit my odd size plus shipping and handling is all $300 :)
THIS IS THE BEST SITE EVER TO GET A DRESS!!!!!

hmmmm

Classes today

I have a cold today, and for my sales class we are going to the Gateway (outdoor mall) to talk to random people. 1)I have a very bad cold. 2) the weather has a very bad cold too. 3) I'm going to be outside. 4) my voice sounds funny and I can't hear because of my cold. 5) I'm going to talk to random people and have to record our conversations. ......Anyone wanna wish me luck and warmness??? :)

In other news, in my interpersonal communications class, my teacher gave everyone a rubberband to put around our wrists so that we can flick ourselves with it when ever we have a negative thought. lucky for me, my brain is not really thinking right now!!!

I'm on the road to SLC for my first semester of college! Dawson cried for like 20 min until I gave him my plastic graduate necklaces to remember me by and he gave me a princess picture that he colored. So cute!

Yesterday i made some orange juice. On the can it says "keep frozen"; however this orange juice had been in the refrigerator for about 48 hours. Mom said it was probably fine and I decided to trust her judgement because usually she's right and I am just paranoid. When the orange juice was made, I poured me a glass and it tasted a little funny, but I just thought it was cuz I used tap water. Last night I felt like throwing up, but if you know me, feeling sick is usual. I drank some more orange juice this morning, felt very sick all day and finally threw up. I see no reason why I would be ill, my food diet has not changed, and it wasn't stress, So I dumped the OJ down the drain and have been feeling better ever since! The moral of this story is: when OJ concentrate says "keep frozen" you should probably listen...unless you want to be bulimic, then refrigerate it, make it, and drink it with every meal!

After thanksgiving feast (Turkey Face Sanwiches)

So today I decided to make turkey face sandwiches for lunch, using the leftover turkey and rolls. SO YUM, but when I was grating (or what I like to call zesting) the Parmesan cheese that was slightly unfrozen for the garnish, I zested my thumb again!!! but this time, farther down, more on the base of my thumb. I hate when I do that. So Steven finished zesting the cheese for me.

Open-Faced Turkey Sandwiches With Parmesan Cream Sauce And Bacon
Serves/Makes: 6    |   Difficulty Level: 3    |   Ready In: < 30 minutes

Ingredients:

***Sandwich***
12 slices bacon
12 slices firm white sandwich bread
unsalted butter, softened, for spreading on toast if desired
1 pound sliced roast turkey breast (from leftover roast turkey)

***Sauce***
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/2 cups milk
1 large egg yolk
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan, plus more for sprinkling
freshly ground white pepper
salt
1/4 cup well-chilled heavy cream

Directions:
In a large heavy skillet cook bacon in batches over moderate heat, turning it, until golden brown and crisp. Transfer bacon, as cooked, to paper towels to drain.

Toast bread and if desired, discard crusts and lightly butter toast. Arrange toast on 6 flameproof plates and divide turkey among toasts.

Preheat broiler.

For Sauce: In a 2 to 3-quart heavy saucepan melt butter over moderately low heat and whisk in flour. Cook roux, whisking constantly, 3 minutes.

Add 2 cups milk in a stream, whisking, and bring sauce to a boil, whisking. Simmer sauce, whisking occasionally, 5 minutes.

While sauce is simmering, in a bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and remaining 1/2 cup milk. Whisk about 1 cup sauce into yolk mixture.

Remove pan from heat and whisk yolk mixture into sauce with Parmesan. Cook sauce over moderately low heat, whisking constantly, until a thermometer registers 160 degrees F. Remove pan from heat and season sauce with white pepper and salt.

In a small bowl whisk cream until it just holds stiff peaks and stir into sauce.

Spoon sauce evenly over turkey and sprinkle Parmesan evenly over sauce. Broil sandwiches in batches about 2 to 3 inches from heat until sauce is lightly browned, about 2 minutes.

Arrange 2 bacon slices in an X on each serving.

 Pumpkin Cheesecake. SO YUMMY!

college classes

Well apparently if I start taking interior design classes winter semester I have to take 18 credits this semester, and 11 over the summer, or my schedule will just NOT work out the rest of the semesters. So instead, I am taking 2 electives and the non-program specific/but required for my degree/no prerequisite classes this semester and starting the interior design classes fall semester. The classes in the suggested schedule that I moved up to this semester I will just replace with my other electives! I am registered for all my classes, and now all I am waiting on is my housing and financial aid applications to be accepted (or not).
I have one class monday, 4 classes tuesday and Thursday (starting at 9:20 and ending at 6:00), 2 classes wednesday, and one class friday.
I will get a job on campus that I can work about 10 hours a week to have "play money" as mom calls it and then use the rest of my time to do homework! It is pretty exciting!
